⚽ ABOUT GOLDEN BALL

Golden Ball is an independent football trivia app focused on the Ballon d'Or award. Each round displays a year on the screen. Your task is to select the player who won that year from four named options. Golden Ball tests how well you connect football history with the players linked to each season.

🏆 HOW GOLDEN BALL WORKS

Tap Play on the home screen and Golden Ball starts a session with ten questions. Each question shows a different year from the built-in winner list. Four player names appear as answer buttons. Select the name you think is correct. After each choice, Golden Ball shows feedback, highlights the correct player, and moves to the next question.

⏱️ TIMER AND LIVES

Golden Ball gives you thirty seconds per question. A progress bar on the game screen shows remaining time. Each session begins with three lives shown as heart icons. A wrong answer removes one life. If the timer runs out, that also counts as a mistake and removes a life. When all three lives are gone, the session ends immediately.

📊 SCORING AND VICTORY

Each correct answer adds ten points to your score. The game screen displays your current score, question progress, and remaining lives. When a session ends — after ten questions or when all lives are lost — Golden Ball checks your result. Seven or more correct answers mark the session as Victory. Fewer than seven correct answers show Game Over on the results screen.

📅 HISTORICAL QUESTION POOL

Golden Ball includes Ballon d'Or winners from 1956 through 2024. Wrong answer options are taken from other years in the database and shuffled each round. The 2020 ceremony was canceled and is not included in the question set.

📱 THREE SCREENS

The home screen shows the Golden Ball logo and a Play button. The game screen shows the year in a readable panel, the question prompt, four answer buttons, score, lives, timer bar, and question counter. The results screen shows the final score, correct answer count, time spent, your highest saved score, and a local score table.

🏅 LOCAL SCORE TABLE

Golden Ball saves session data on your device using local storage. The results screen lists five saved sessions ranked by score, with date and points shown for each entry. No account or sign-in is required. Data stays on your phone.

🔁 PLAY AGAIN

After viewing your results, tap Play Again to start a new session right away. Golden Ball creates a fresh run with new random years and shuffled answer options. Each session draws a different mix of questions from the full winner list.

✈️ OFFLINE GAMEPLAY

Golden Ball runs fully on your device. No internet connection is needed to play, save scores, or view your score table. Open Golden Ball whenever you want a quick football trivia session.

🧠 FEEDBACK AFTER EACH ANSWER

After every response, Golden Ball highlights the correct player on the screen before loading the next question. Wrong answers and timeouts both reveal the right name, so each round adds context to the year shown.

📲 LAYOUT AND CONTROLS

Golden Ball uses portrait orientation. Text panels use a dark overlay background. Answer buttons are full width with consistent spacing. Correct and incorrect feedback messages appear between questions.
