AuroraTonight is based on an advanced machine learning model that can predict magnetic perturbations around the world up to two hours in advance with unprecedented accuracy. The strongest magnetic perturbations are caused by the aurora, so we can forecast the aurora for any location an hour earlier than the other models. The app provides global notifications up to three days ahead based on NOAA forecast and local alerts up to two hours ahead. The local alerts take into account darkness and clear sky conditions.

love the app, hate the update. last night, I got an alert of aurora near me. Prompted to download a new version of the app. Kept the old version too. this morning, got rid of the old version. now the new version won't open. :( also, the notifications are inconsistent. last night, I got a notification of a 17% chance of aurora in my city (makes sense), a 34% chance of aurora within 120 miles (makes sense), and a 59% chance of aurora "in my area" (what? couldn't find details on where).
