User Reviews

DataVault Password Manager is praised for its cross-platform synchronization, local data storage options, and user-friendly interface, making it a versatile tool for password management. However, multiple users report recurring synchronization failures on Android, poor customer support responsiveness, and biometric authentication issues. Updates have sometimes caused data backup problems, leading to frustration. Though long-time users appreciate the app's stability and flexibility, concerns about stalled development and support may affect new user confidence.
Pros
  • Supports multiple platforms (Windows, Android, iOS) with synchronization features, particularly through Dropbox.
  • Allows local data storage without relying on cloud services, which is preferred by some users for security/privacy.
  • User-friendly interface that is logical and relatively easy to use for managing passwords and other secure information.
  • Highly customizable, including free-form field naming and flexibility for various data types, not just passwords.
  • Reliable and stable over many years of use for some users, with minimal glitches and consistent backups, when features work properly.
Cons
  • Frequent synchronization issues on Android, especially Dropbox sync and WiFi sync, causing data loss or errors.
  • Lack of timely or effective customer support—many users report unresponsive or no replies to emails.
  • Biometric (fingerprint) login often fails, forcing users to remember or write down master passwords, reducing convenience and security.
  • Recent Android updates seem to have caused backup and restore problems, including forced reset and loss of changes after updates.
  • Perceived stagnation in development and updates, with some users noting the Android app had not been updated for years leading to compatibility and support concerns.

Intuitive? Not really. very little in user manual. Windows datavault isn't much better. I'm a gambler so i thought i give this password manager a try for $10. Don't waste your cash. buy beer instead and use lastpass - it's free. After many years, I tried this app again. the biometrics never works correctly and I have to recover my password which I don't ever remember because I depend on the fingerprint, so I have to write it down. lastpass is still the best free version.

The paid version of this app SUCKS! I have written them multiple times, and they do not respond. I hate having to put my password in every time I use the free version that functionality does not exist unless you upgrade, which, by the way, does not have that option available. If I didn't have so many passwords already saved in the app I would delete it.
