National Anthem of India

India got its freedom from the British Empire on August 15, 1947. Since then, it has been the largest democracy in the world, and it has made lots of progress in many fields. India has now population of close to 1.25 billion.

India is an old and great civilization. Its national anthem, Jan Gan Man, was written by Rabinder Nath Tagore, a famous writer.

Rabinder Nath Tagore wrote this song in honour of King George V and the Queen of England when they visited India in 1911.
