"Silver Necklace" is a tourist route through the cities of the Russian North-West and a completely new brand in Russian tourism. In the short term, it should become an analogue of the Golden Ring.
The Silver Necklace unites the most historically significant regions and cities, including St. Petersburg, Kaliningrad, Arkhangelsk, the Leningrad Region, Vologda, Karelia, the Nenets Autonomous Okrug, Veliky Novgorod, the Komi Republic, Pskov, and the Murmansk Region.

Today, the new project covers 11 regions, and sales of tours started already in the 2015 season. To the east, the Silver Necklace covers the Nevsky Piglet and Staraya Ladoga, on the basis of which the entire project was formed. In the northern direction, the route continues in Priozersk. Medieval monuments are concentrated here. In the northwestern direction - through Vyborg, a city of several cultures at once (Finnish, Russian and Karelian). And in the west, the "Silver Necklace of Russia" covers the ancient border with Livonia, Koporye and Kingisepp.
The list of Silver Necklace routes includes the following areas:

Arkhangelsk. The program included the city of Arkhangelsk from the Northern Dvina embankment, the Church of St. Nicholas and the Gostiny Dvor of the 17th century, the village of Malye Karely with the famous museum of wooden architecture of the northern peoples, Onega and the Solovetsky Islands.

Vologda. The “Silver Necklace of Russia” includes the city of Vologda (Sophia Cathedral, the Kremlin, the house of Peter I, the Spaso-Prilutsky Monastery), Veliky Ustyug (Father Frost’s patrimony, Procopius’ temple, the Winter Garden, the Church of the Ascension, merchant mansions), Kirillov (Archimandria Corps, Kirillo-Belozersky Monastery), Totma (Museum of Sailors, Spaso-Sumorin Monastery), Belozersk (Kremlin), Vytegra (Demon Cape).

Leningradskaya. The following objects are included in the project: Shlisselburg with the Krepkiy Oreshek fortress, Gomorovichi with the chapel of St. Nicholas the Wonderworker, Lodeinoye Pole, Upper Mandrogi, Gladyshevsky Reserve, Tikhvin with the Assumption Monastery, Vyborg, Strelna, Staraya Ladoga, Priozersk.

Novgorod. The route includes Veliky Novgorod (Sophia Cathedral, the Kremlin, Yaroslav's Courtyard, St. Yuriev Monastery), Staraya Russa (Savior Transfiguration Monastery, Dostoevsky's house-museum), Valdai (Iversky Monastery, Museum of Bells).

Murmansk. The "Silver Necklace of Russia" includes the Rybachy and Sredny peninsulas with military-historical and natural monuments, Lovozero with a unique Sami village, Apatity (Mineralogy Museum), Revda (Seydyavvr reserve), Severomorsk (Northern Fleet Air Force Museum), Murmansk (icebreaker museum "Lenin", memorials to the heroes of the war), Umba (Museum of Pomeranian Culture).
Nenets Autonomous Okrug. Here, the route includes Nelmin-Nos and Naryan-Mar with museums, ethno-cultural centers and reindeer herders' camps.

Pskov. On the territory of the region, Izborsk (fortress, Slovenian springs, Truvorovo settlement), Pechory (Pechora monastery), Pskov (Kremlin, Trinity Cathedral, Pokrovsky complex), Pushkinsky reserve were chosen for inclusion in the route.

Karelia. The routes of the "Silver Necklace" were supplemented by Petrozavodsk, Kizhi (monuments of wooden architecture), Marcial Waters (Peter's Church, Museum of the First Russian Resort), Kem.

Komi. Syktyvkar (Finno-Ugric Ethnopark), Buredan waterfall, extreme routes from Vorkuta to Mount Borzov, Dolgushin and Bocha glaciers, sacred places of reindeer herders were chosen for the route.

Kaliningrad. The project includes the castles of the region (16 objects), including the Don tower and the Sackheim Gate.

St. Petersburg. A separate direction of the route is the Northern capital with its countless heritage: the Peter and Paul Fortress, St. Isaac's Cathedral, the Hermitage, the Admiralty, the Church of the Savior on Blood.
