Foreground Service Explanation
AdFoodz uses a foreground service only when a user places an order. This action is explicitly initiated by the user. Once the order is placed, the foreground service starts to handle order processing, including maintaining the pending state until the restaurant accepts the order.
While the order is in a “Pending” state, the process remains active. Once the restaurant accepts the order, the foreground service related to the pending state stops automatically.
During this process, AdFoodz starts a foreground service to search for a nearby driver. During this process, a persistent notification is displayed with the message “Searching for driver”, clearly informing the user that the process is running in the foreground. The notification remains visible until a driver accepts the order, after which the foreground service stops automatically.
The foreground service in AdFoodz is not used for background or silent processing such as data sync or media processing. It is strictly used for user-initiated, time-bound tasks that are fully visible to the user.
This implementation complies with Google Play’s Foreground Service policy, as the functionality is initiated by the user and remains perceptible through a persistent notification.
