Weld Fit Up Report & Root Gap

Turn each joint check into a fit-up report: a numbered weld map with root gap, land, bevel, and a hi-lo OK flag per joint, exported as PDF or CSV.

When the inspector asks for the fit-up record before the root goes in, you hand it over instead of hunting for a report format online. Number welds as you tack, and every logged check lands on the map with its target, its checked value, and whether it was in spec.

A worked example: 6 in Sch 40 carbon, GTAW open root. Key in 37.5 deg bevel per side, 3/32 in root opening, 1/16 in land, 1/16 in max hi-lo, then log the joint as weld W-14 in about ten seconds. Your WPS specifies the allowable open root gap for pipe butt welds, so you key the four numbers straight off your approved card once and reuse them for the whole run.

How the numbers get filled fast:
- Pick the joint by size, schedule, material, and process, and your saved WPS targets appear.
- Quick WPS entry takes the four numbers off your card in under 30 seconds.
- Lay the phone flat on the bevel for a field angle readout against the target. It is a convenience check, not a reading any inspector accepts.
- Print a laminatable feeler set for setting the root opening, or use the on-screen backup.
- Mark hi-lo checked OK or flag the joint for review before you tack.
