User Reviews

KeePassDroid is praised for a simple, open-source, and reliable design, easy cross-device use, and regular updates with strong security. However, users report recurrent critical issues opening databases (especially with cloud storage), key file and biometric access problems, limited group/entry management, UI glitches, and occasional data loss or lockouts. Improvements in file handling, group management, and UI stability would address the main recurring complaints.
Pros
  • Simple, minimal, open-source design that feels reliable.
  • Easy to use with straightforward UX.
  • Free to use and works across devices with cloud backup/sync options.
  • Security-focused and trusted with strong privacy.
  • Regular updates and ongoing support.
Cons
  • Frequent database opening issues, especially when stored on cloud services (OneDrive/Google Drive) or when file paths change.
  • Key file handling problems and biometric/login issues (lost or not remembered key; biometrics not reliable; permission problems).
  • Limited group/entry management features (unable to move or delete groups; difficult to switch between databases).
  • UI glitches and navigation quirks (invisible open button, janky ChromeOS swipe, unclear file paths).
  • Risk of data loss or being locked out due to corruption or access errors.
Recent reviews
DO NOT USE THIS APP. If I could give negative stars, I would. It should be withdrawn from availability. Go for the other keepass apps. I have lost 18 months of password changes. I setup this app to access a OneDrive database. 18 months ago it auto-changed to a local version. Recently it crashed and everything was lost... an empty file. My only backup is an 18 month old version of the database in my Onedrive. Evidently, other apps behave better and have PROPER options for backup.
