The challenge is to spot the difference between safe ground and danger. Each track has solid segments and faded mirage segments. Solid parts let the ball continue running and earn score over time. Mirage gaps shimmer and are unsafe. If the ball touches one of these faded sections, it falls through and you lose 1 life.

You have 3 lives in each level. Every time the ball touches a mirage gap and falls through, you lose 1 life. With limited lives, careless taps can quickly end the attempt.
