Review summary

Users find QBasic: Learn, Code & Run app useful and user-friendly for beginners and learning QBasic on the go, especially where official apps don't work. It offers many learning resources and runs old QBasic code fairly well. However, multiple reviews highlight bugs causing incorrect code output, lack of free code writing functionality, intrusive ads, and occasional crashes. Navigation and code selection within the app could be improved. Overall, it is praised for educational value but requires further development and bug fixes to enhance user experience.
Pros
  • Great for beginners to learn QBasic programming.
  • Helpful for both teachers and learners with descriptive knowledge.
  • Works well for running old QBasic codes on mobile devices.
  • User-friendly interface with quality settings and benefits for learning.
  • Allows practicing coding on mobile where official QBasic apps may not work.
Cons
  • The app contains many bugs leading to incorrect outputs even with correct code.
  • Users cannot freely write or edit code step-by-step; limited to predefined commands without own code input feature.
  • Ads are excessive and intrusive, causing disruptions and even returning users to the main menu.
  • Crashes and instability issues persist on some devices despite claimed fixes.
  • Some features like selecting code or navigating between programs are difficult or frustrating to use.

nope. Looks corporate, feels corporate and IS corporate. I hoped for a compiler, but all I got was a credit system, "redeem codes", and a limit to using the compiler

Not an IDE? Found a limited cloud compiler but couldn't edit any code. A true developer that knows what they are doing would include an offline interpreter/compiler. Qbasic interpreters and compilers were never big in size or resource consumption. A limit of 8 execution attempts, pfft get real. Why not save progress locally instead of signing in? That could have saved you hours of coding right there. ADs make the whole UI a nebula of chaos. An honest lazy attempt at something meaningful here.
