AI Reader - Accessibility Reading Assistant

AI Reader helps people with low vision, dyslexia, reading fatigue, and cognitive or learning-related reading difficulties listen to and understand visible screen text more easily.

The app provides a floating screen reader button that works over supported apps. When the user taps the floating reader button, AI Reader reads visible text from the current screen and converts it into speech. This helps users listen to articles, web pages, messages, documents, and other readable text with less effort.

Floating Screen Reader:

Text-to-Speech Reading:
Listen to visible text aloud with playback controls such as play, pause, stop, next, and previous.

Reading Modes:
Choose what to read, such as headlines, body text, or key points when available.

Summaries:
Turn long readable content into a simple summary with headline, body, and key points.

Translation:
Translate readable text into supported languages and listen to translated content aloud.

OCR Text Detection:
When normal text extraction is unavailable, AI Reader may use OCR to detect readable visible text from image-based content.

Rewrite Assistance:
Rewrite extracted or dictated text into clearer notes, messages, or simplified content.

Voice Writing Assistant:
Use microphone input to dictate text and convert speech into polished writing such as notes, emails, messages, and captions.

AccessibilityService API Disclosure

AI Reader uses the AccessibilityService API as a core accessibility feature to help users with vision and reading-related difficulties access visible screen content.

The AccessibilityService is used only after the user grants permission and explicitly taps the floating reader button. The service reads visible text from the current screen and uses it only for user-requested actions such as text-to-speech reading, summarization, translation, or rewrite assistance.

AI Reader does not use AccessibilityService to click buttons, type text, change device settings, perform purchases, bypass Android privacy controls, record calls, or control other apps on the user’s behalf.

AI Reader does not store, sell, or share screen content collected through AccessibilityService. Visible screen text is processed only to complete the action requested by the user. Users can disable the accessibility service anytime from Android Accessibility Settings.

Permissions

Accessibility permission is required for the floating screen reader feature.

Display over other apps permission is required to show the floating reader button.

Microphone permission is used only when the user starts the Voice Writing Assistant.

Notification permission may be used for foreground reading and playback controls.

AI Reader is built to provide a transparent, user-controlled, and accessibility-focused reading experience.
