AEA-Hive

AEA-Hive by Aether Energy Alliance, LLC provides secure, encrypted remote access to Building Automation System (BAS) web interfaces from a single app. AEA-Hive is system- and vendor-agnostic: other BAS or networked assets with a web UI can be reached through it. Facility teams, integrators, and operators get one-tap access to their buildings from anywhere — without exposing controllers to the public internet.
Requires AEA-Node: AEA-Hive is the mobile client for the AEA-Node, a separate purchasable hardware appliance deployed at the customer site. AEA-Node is available through Aether Energy Alliance, LLC or its authorized partners.
How it works: Each AEA-Node is configured to expose only the specific asset(s) the customer designates — typically a single BAS supervisor or controller web UI per node. AEA-Hive uses an embedded browser that connects through a cloud-hosted reverse proxy, with transport secured over a cryptographically-authenticated peer-to-peer overlay network. Nothing on the customer's broader network is reachable through AEA-Hive — only the configured asset.
Security model:
• Per-asset access only — AEA-Hive reaches only the asset(s) explicitly configured on the customer's AEA-Node, not the broader building network
• Cryptographically-authenticated peer-to-peer overlay network using modern elliptic-curve cryptography with authenticated symmetric encryption
• Self-hosted network membership controller — authorization is managed within AEA infrastructure, with no third-party SaaS dependency for network membership
• TLS-forced sessions with 90-day rotating certificates
• Per-device authentication
• No inbound ports on the building network
• Embedded browser only — AEA-Hive does not store, scrape, or modify BAS data

AEA-Hive does not integrate with or modify these systems — it simply provides encrypted transport to their existing web interfaces. Any other BAS, IoT gateway, or networked device with a web UI is supported, provided it is configured on a compatible AEA-Node.
