Aadhaar Enabled Biometric Attendance System (AEBAS) is an initiative under India's Digital India program, designed exclusively for government employees registered on the attendance portal. The extension facilitates the marking of daily attendance using Aadhaar-based biometric authentication, promoting transparency and punctuality within government organizations.

Originally, attendance was marked using fingerprint and iris devices. The system has since evolved to include face-based Aadhaar authentication through UIDAI's RD service, allowing users to verify their attendance quickly and securely via facial recognition. The application works only within Indian government IP networks and is restricted to registered government employees, ensuring authorized and efficient attendance management. The process completes within seconds, displaying attendance status immediately after marking.
