HOW A GPS LOCATION ALARM WORKS

1. Search for a place or choose a point directly on the map.
2. Select a radius such as 100 m, 300 m, 500 m, or 1 km, or fine-tune it with the slider.
3. Choose whether the alarm rings once, every day, or on custom days.
4. Select arrival, departure, or both as the trigger where available.
5. Choose and preview an alarm sound, then arm the location alert.

The alarm can show over the lock screen with sound, vibration, dismiss, and snooze controls when the necessary device permissions are enabled.

You can create a location alarm as a guest. Adding an account keeps alarms and saved places connected to your profile and unlocks friend coordination.

FRIENDS WITHOUT LIVE TRACKING

LocatAlert is not a live-location feed. You choose a specific friend, place, and task. Your friend decides whether to accept it. The task can open the place in Maps and show useful progress without exposing either person’s continuous location.

BACKGROUND LOCATION AND PRIVACY

Background location is used only while an armed alarm needs to detect arrival at or departure from the chosen area. LocatAlert explains why each permission is needed before requesting it. Your live location stays on your device and is not shown to friends, sold, or shared with advertisers or data brokers.

Location accuracy and alarm timing can vary with GPS signal, device power settings, and permissions. LocatAlert includes a guided reliability setup to help Android keep armed alarms working in the background.
