Abyssglim

Abyssglim is a portrait deep-sea exploration and collection game about piloting a compact submersible beyond the reach of sunlight. Each expedition begins near the surface and leads through shallow coves, continental slopes, midnight waters, the open abyss, and finally the trench floor. Your goal is to locate every required bioluminescent specimen before oxygen runs out or pressure damage breaks the hull.

The controls are designed for one hand. Hold the dive zone on the right side of the screen to descend, then release it to rise toward the surface. Sonar has its own dedicated button and only activates when you choose to fire a pulse; touching a creature or continuing to descend will never trigger a scan by accident. When the submersible moves close to an uncollected creature, keep holding the dive control and the mechanical arm automatically locks on and samples it. Once a species has been collected, the vehicle resumes its descent instead of stopping for duplicates. Gathering every specimen type required by the current layer completes the survey automatically.

Successful samples award Glow, the energy-rich resource used throughout the expedition program. First discoveries are added to a specimen atlas containing twenty-four creatures across five rarity tiers, from common glowing drifters to legendary Deep Lords. The atlas records what you have found and gives every dive a clear collection target.

Between expeditions, visit the Dive Lab to improve five major systems: the light pod, oxygen tank, sonar array, sampling arm, and pressure hull. Better equipment expands visibility, extends survival time, shortens sonar cooldowns, increases sampling reach, and provides more protection in dangerous depths. Ten abyss layers and four escalating expedition rounds create a steady path from the welcoming shallows to the most hostile trench. Deeper routes drain oxygen faster, introduce stronger currents and hazards, and reward careful preparation with rarer discoveries. Choose upgrades deliberately, manage risk during every descent, complete each layer's collection, and build the definitive catalog of life below the last light.
