User Reviews

Android users report persistent connectivity and reliability problems with the SeaLife Micro 3+ Android app. The most common issues are hanging on 'Connecting to your Camera,' frequent disconnects when using settings, and device compatibility problems across various Android phones. File transfers are slow or unreliable, with timeouts for large downloads/uploads. A minority do see occasional success on certain devices, but overall the Android experience is inconsistent and in need of substantial fixes.

Pros

Occasional successful connections on some Android devices (e.g., Galaxy S22), showing the app can work under the right conditions.
When it connects, users report it allows camera control and changing settings.
Cross‑platform ecosystem note: the camera works with an iPad app, suggesting the underlying hardware/software can function across platforms (implying potential for Android reliability improvements).

Cons

Repeated inability to connect or endless 'Connecting to your Camera' on Android, indicating reliability issues.
Frequent disconnects or crashes when accessing settings or pressing back; the app often closes unexpectedly.
Significant compatibility problems across Android devices (Samsung, Pixel 6a, etc.), with many devices unable to connect or use features.
Slow or unreliable file transfers, including difficulty downloading/uploading large files, timeouts, and long transfer times.
Overall sentiment of frustration and uselessness from multiple reviewers due to persistent connectivity and transfer problems.

Recent reviews

This app is HORRIBLE!!! I just spent $600 on a camera that won't connect to my phone. It worked ONCE and then a few hours later after the next dive it stopped connecting. The phone just says "Connecting to your Camera" indefinitely.
