Planning a garden bed often looks simple until you have to figure out exactly how much soil, mulch, or compost you actually need. This app turns those measurements into a clear material estimate, helping you prepare each bed with fewer calculations and less uncertainty.

Start by choosing the shape of the bed, whether rectangular or circular, then enter its dimensions and depth using the measurement unit that fits your project. Select the material you plan to use, define the bag volume, and add an optional extra allowance of 5%, 10%, or 15% when you want a little more material for settling, uneven ground, or adjustments during installation.

Once the values are entered, the calculator works out the surface area, border perimeter, base material volume, additional allowance, and final required volume. The result also shows how many full bags are needed, automatically rounding the quantity up so you have a practical number to purchase rather than just a theoretical calculation.

Frequently used garden beds can be saved for later and organized in one place. Saved entries keep useful information such as shape, material, dimensions, depth, calculated volume, and required bag count. A search field makes larger collections easier to navigate, while favorite beds can be marked for quicker access.

Each saved project opens into a detailed summary where measurements and material estimates can be reviewed again without repeating the calculation. Results can also be copied when you need to keep them in notes or share them elsewhere.
