FOVASTRO is a focused toolkit for amateur astronomers, astrophotographers, and visual observers. Plan how a target will
frame in your scope, check the astronomy weather for the next seven nights, and quickly align your mount — all in one
ad-free app.

• FOV CALCULATOR
Pick a deep-sky target, telescope, and camera; FOVASTRO overlays your sensor's true field of view on a real survey
image of the object so you can see exactly what will fit. The calculator handles focal reducers, Barlows, and a wide
range of OTA, eyepiece, and camera presets, with the option to enter custom values.

• CLEARSKIES — 7-DAY ASTRO-DARK FORECAST
A nightly weather scorecard built around what astronomers actually care about: cloud cover (low / mid / high), wind,
gusts, precipitation, temperature, dew point, frost risk, and moon illumination. The score is computed only over the
genuinely dark hours of each night — between astronomical dusk and dawn (Sun below -18°), so a forecast is never spoiled
by daylight hours.

Set your location three ways:
– Type any place name (worldwide search)
– Type latitude / longitude directly
– Tap "Use GPS" (optional Android location permission)

• COMPASS
A clean magnetic compass for rough mount alignment in the field.

• BUBBLE LEVELLER
An on-screen bubble level for tripods and equatorial wedges.

• No ads. No analytics. No account.
• No background tracking. The app never opens the network unless you ask it to load a forecast or a sky image.
• Dark UI from the first pixel — designed to be used at the telescope without ruining your night vision.

— DATA SOURCES —

• Weather and place search: Open-Meteo (CC BY 4.0).
• Survey imagery: NASA SkyView Virtual Observatory (DSS and other public surveys).
• Cached preview tiles: 365Astronomy / fovastro.co.uk.

— PERMISSIONS —

• Internet: required to download weather forecasts and survey images.
• Location (optional): only requested if you tap "Use GPS" inside ClearSkies. You can deny it and use typed locations
instead.
