Review summary

Users appreciate that Critical - Incremental Reactor has no forced ads and features an engaging concept with responsive developers. However, many find the progression painfully slow, especially after early stages, with upgrades that feel ineffective or counterproductive. Automation features like the auto buyer are often broken or underwhelming. The expensive premium currency and confusing interface further detract from the experience. While the initial gameplay offers a decent tutorial and learning curve, the long-term playability suffers due to balance and pacing issues.
Pros
  • No forced ads, which is appreciated by many users.
  • The initial gameplay and tutorial provide a good learning experience.
  • The game concept and mechanics have an interesting and unique theme with incremental and incremental reactor elements.
  • The developer is responsive to feedback and seems active in improving the game.
  • Paid currency can be earned frequently enough without forced spending.
Cons
  • Progression is very slow and becomes stagnant especially after early tiers.
  • Upgrades often have marginal or inconsequential effects and sometimes even negative impact on gameplay.
  • The auto buyer and automation features are broken or underperforming, affecting gameplay convenience.
  • Premium currency is expensive and sometimes feels mandatory to progress.
  • The UI and graphics can be cluttered and confusing, with overwhelming information and insufficient guidance.

This game is cool but the cash upgrades feel incredibly pointless. Most runs they only add about 15 seconds to my timer, and I had a run where buying them actually DECREASED my overall time (managed to lose 12 seconds compared to my PB where I didn't buy anything. I bought extra personnel and cooling, by any stretch of logic this doesn't make any sense as to why I'd get a shorter run.) My strategy is to just completely ignore them now since they're inconsequential at best or a detriment at worst

at the current state of the game its lackluster in the late game from what i can see, the tutorial was a bit confusing but got what i needed, of to note: cooling the core automatically doesn't exist there is only atuo buyers that doesnt work or doesn't understand, some upgrades dont matter like "crit cool" it doesnt make sense for a 1.3% chance to get 1.2 more cool on that guy, leaderboards doesn't work, you get like no progression with the new stuff and your grind slows FAR, good start bad end.

Autobuyer enable/disable check-box; does nothing. Edit: have to close the app in order to update automation check boxes.

Been on the current version a total of five minutes and already had the game crash twice. Not a good update

The font and graphics are so annoying and there is way too much going off all at once. A suggestion would be to slowly release the options upon doing certain milestones and getting a reward for that as well. The major problem for me is intrusive ads that don't give me anything in return. I will watch adverts and pay real money but not when it's obviously a cash grab. Work to be done here..

They didn't promt me to review the game "Are you liking?" I just came here to do it. NO FORCED ADS. This is first thing I look for. 2nd, the gameplay loop is good, enjoyable, I don't feel like I need to watch ads to progress. The game gives you paid currency frequently. That's why I came to write this review actually, this game is so worth the time to play. I'm still pretty early into it in retrospect but I gotta recommend

Progress drops off a cliff after tier 2, there are no good new upgrades, the tier is harder than the last, AND you need to live longer than previously. After many painful weeks just got tier 3 and the autobuyer is seriously underwhelming. I imagine most players quit either here or before.

Not a terrible premise, no forced ads or anything. But, progression slows to a crawl almost instantly, the diamonds are too rare for all the integral mechanics of the game they are used to unlock, and the auto buyer is broken. I really tried to like it, but the game is not balanced or polished enough for it to be fun.

No forced ads, 5 stars there. Fairly slow, yet that's part of the grind for our great... *checks notes* ... Nation of Radiation. Perks are also given out through 'tiers' and you pass each tier by having the plant last longer and longer. If your people working the plant... *checks notes again*... Takes a cozy nap, the clock will speed up so you don't sit there for hours on end waiting for plant to... take a nap, also. Yes. Perfect. Plays like Ad Captialist but radioactive instead. And pixel'd art

The focus of the game is nonsense, youre upgrading stats but the amounts ur upgrading them by is so miniscule it doesn't matter, you have to buy premium currency to even move on and then the goalposts are arbitrarily moved. You can't have a strategy cos u have to be there to actually do it, ur supposed to just buy things to automate the whole process and just let it run, but why am i playing a game that doesn't want me to actually play it?
