Tumulted

Tumulted is an interactive app and the final layer of Jazmina Figueroa’s artistic contribution to the sixth ARE YOU FOR REAL exhibition. This app invites you to explore two historical narratives that stumbled into the present. Tumulted draws parallels between the experiences of Irma Bandiera and Artemisia Gentileschi, both of whom endured forms of violence and coercion.


This digitized radio play is accompanied by interactive AR-based targets, designed to reconstruct and explore complex historical stories.


APP INSTRUCTIONS


Each AR target is accessible from the scans on a separate site or printed version, marked with the word "PAUSE" and featuring poor calibration, distortion, and pixelation—a deliberate interference that reflects the historical erasure and misrepresentation this work seeks to counteract.
