Explore one of the most beautiful places on Earth with the North Coast Redwoods App. Journey along wild and scenic rivers and windswept beaches, and explore some of the largest stands of ancient redwoods left on the planet. Viewers will learn from California State Park interpreters, as well as members of the National Park Service, Save the Redwoods League, Tribal representatives, and others. Highlights include climbing a 350-foot tall ancient redwood with the help of some of world’s leading canopy biologists, and exploring a traditional Yurok redwood plank house with State Park interpreters of Indigenous heritage.

With the North Coast Redwoods App, viewers will use AR/VR technology to explore the human stories, both ancient and modern, that make up the fabric of this special place. This includes the heroic struggle 100 years ago to save the last 5% of the world’s ancient redwoods. Viewers will also learn about the unique animals and plants that make several of these parks part of a UNESCO World Heritage Site and Biosphere Reserve, and the work underway to transform once damaged lands into the “ancient redwood forests” of the future.
