User Reviews

GoTool v2 is a popular companion app that many users rely on to track Pokémon Go shinies, raids, events, and research tasks. Users praise its ease of use and helpful features. However, a major issue is the inconsistent updates, especially since mid-2024, resulting in outdated and sometimes inaccurate game information. Multiple users also report app crashes, UI problems, and removal or malfunction of key functions. While it remains useful when maintained, the lack of reliable updates and technical issues diminish its current reliability and user satisfaction.

Pros

Very useful for tracking game-related information such as shiny Pokémon, raid bosses, research tasks, and events.
Provides detailed and up-to-date info on missions, raids, and counters when maintained.
Clean and simple UI that allows for quick glances and easy use.
Allows users to keep track of shiny Pokémon collections over time.
Includes helpful community day info and research task rewards.

Cons

Lack of consistent updates since mid-2024 leading to outdated information and missing features.
App instability including crashes, hangs, and failure to open especially after certain updates or OS upgrades.
Removal or loss of key features such as shiny checklists or personal save states after updates.
User interface issues such as clutter, poor artwork, or navigation problems (e.g., tabs obscured by phone buttons).
Misleading or inaccurate data like incorrect raid difficulty ratings and shiny or IV tracking errors.

Recent reviews

it seems to have been out of updates for quite a while I remember using it while it was up to date and only had minor notes, everything the app wanted to do was working well, I just wished for a little more. Now it is, quite frankly, useless.
