IATEMON: Alimentos y ciencia

With this augmented reality game, you can learn more about IATEMON, curious creatures that will help you discover food and everything related to it. What microorganisms produce bread or beer? What is the name of the group of microorganisms that live in our intestines? Which bin do plastic containers go in?

Participate in the IATEMON search and capture scavenger hunt throughout the IATA territory, where you can find them in their habitat and talk to our scientists, true experts on the behavior and appearance of these creatures.

Using augmented reality, you can see these creatures in a real 3D space. Interact with them and capture them after completing the associated workshop. Initially, all the creatures will be locked in the inventory, showing only silhouettes and the number of IATEMON available. After completing the workshop, participants will receive a password that will allow them to unlock the creature in augmented reality using their mobile phone or tablet.

This app complements the Science Outreach activities and workshops organized by the Institute of Agrochemistry and Food Technology (IATA-CSIC). Its objective is to increase the impact of the workshops, promoting knowledge and understanding of science and technology, and fostering changes in attitude and behavior through an innovative, engaging, and playful format.

This initiative combines learning, technology, and play, reinforcing the educational experience of the workshops and making food science accessible in a fun, interactive, and memorable way.
