Hobby-Psychologie

The other day at the doctor's: "Due to your mood swings, I'm prescribing the medication 'Antidepressant - Test'."

Patient: What effects does the medication have?

Doctor: You'll feel better!

Patient: What are the side effects of the medication?

Doctor: You can find that in the package insert when you pick up the medication from the pharmacy.

Patient: What??? You can't tell me what side effects might occur?

Doctor: You're the first person to ask. I've transferred the prescription to your health insurance card. You can pick it up at the pharmacy right now.

Patient: I'm not going to do anything. Friends of mine recommended an app in the Play Store. It's about amateur psychology. The person who runs it isn't a psychologist, but they're here to help others, not to prescribe chemical cocktails that risk making me feel worse in the long run.

Some doctor's appointments could go something like this in the future. No one is obligated to place their complete trust in their doctor. Rather, you are responsible for making your own decisions. Just take a look at this app, and if you don't like it, you can get a refund within 15 minutes in the Play Store.

Here's to good mental health!
