User Reviews

Azul Tiles Game is praised for being a free, ad-free app that closely replicates the original board game with smooth gameplay and challenging AI. Users appreciate its value as a practice tool and casual time-waster. However, recurring issues include frequent bugs causing crashes and tile glitches, UI design flaws like misclick-prone buttons, missing features such as undo and multiplayer modes, and AI behavior perceived as unfair or rushed. Additionally, the resume game function is unreliable. Despite these problems, fans enjoy the game's core mechanics and strategic depth.
Pros
  • Free to play with no ads, making it accessible and enjoyable without interruptions.
  • Faithful adaptation of the original Azul board game, capturing the essence and strategy well.
  • Smooth and good gameplay experience overall, making it a good time passer.
  • Great for practicing and learning the rules and strategies of Azul.
  • The AI bots provide a challenge, with varying difficulty and quick gameplay.
Cons
  • Frequent bugs and glitches including tile colors changing mid-game, tiles disappearing, and crashes.
  • Lack of important features like an undo button, pause/resume functionality, and multi-player or pass-and-play modes.
  • Issues with the AI, such as the computer playing too fast, possibly 'cheating' by controlling tile colors, and always going first leading to imbalance.
  • User interface problems, including misclicks due to button placement (e.g., exit button close to gameplay area) and lack of visual cues on placed tiles.
  • The continue/resume game feature does not work reliably, leading to frustrations when trying to pick up where left off.

Really fantastic for a free game with no ads. My only complaint is that the app sometimes lags when dragging tiles making them go in the wrong column and there's no way to undo the move. I'd also love an option for more than 2 players but beggars can't be choosers.

Really good version of Azul. Plays well. The board is flipped by 90 degrees, so normal horizontal and vertical bonus end scoring rules are reversed. For those saying it's broken because sometimes it plays 5 rounds sometimes 6 etc... you need to check the Azul rules. The game ends once a vertical line has been completed (horizontal in original board game). Scoring works correctly. Getting the best scores involves placing tiles next to each other rather than separately across the board.
