I've been playing the physical game with my son for a couple of years and it's great fun, but being a bit obscure, there is virtually no possibility for real world opponent variety. The digital version captures the same gameplay feel (except magic, but also done quite well) whilst allowing to improve the permanent heroes and weapons. But most of all, it allows him to play against other people besides good old dad. Also has a competent and quick support as I recently foubd out ;)

Great (physical) game, the app captures the same tactical gameplay and allows for improving the stats of the heroes and weapons - just the spells are a bit different in the app vs the card game. I wish there would be more players available as matchmaking can take too long sometimes. To maximize rewards, you are encouraged to play different heroes, but balancing weapons between heroes is a bit difficult as you can't bind defaults to quickly furbish your hero for battle, probably the only downside
