Trail of Signs – Every Step a Test is a free smartphone app that accompanies the user along a route through nature, landscape, and cultural heritage, from San Severino Lucano (PZ) to Rocca Imperiale (CS), transforming the journey into an interactive discovery experience.

The app includes two modes:

• MAP
A georeferenced map of the route, designed to orient oneself along the route and identify stops, places of interest, villages, landscapes, and key points along the way.

• VIDEO GAME
A top-down exploration video game with elements of survival, resource management, and progression through the territory. The player traverses environments inspired by the real route, completes challenges, gathers information, and discovers historical, naturalistic, and cultural elements related to the places visited.

Trail of Signs was created with the goal of making walking a living, engaging narrative, where the landscape is not just a backdrop but becomes an active part of the experience. Villages, elements of local memory, historical traces, natural resources, environmental characteristics, and the effects of climate change are integrated into an accessible narrative, designed to engage diverse users and bring them closer to the region through innovative languages.

The top-down view, used in both Map and Video Game modes, provides a clear and immediate understanding of the territory. The itinerary is always visible on-screen and guides the user's progression, while altimetry, routes, and points of interest help to perceive the layout of the places and the relationship between walking, landscape, and discovery.

The app is free to download and is aimed at walkers, visitors, students, families, and anyone who wishes to explore the region through a digital, narrative, and interactive experience.
