DIAPERS DIAPERS is a solution for efficient diaper inventory management at Hanbet Nest, a short-term care facility for the severely disabled.

We, Young-Taek Lim and Min-Woo Cha, who are social service workers at a short-term care facility for the severely disabled, are in charge of managing the diaper inventory of users. If the quantity of diapers in stock is not properly grasped, even if the available diaper stock is exhausted, it may not be recognized in advance, resulting in disruptions in the user's diaper replacement. Therefore, although this task may seem trivial, it can be said to be one of the important tasks in improving the quality of life of users and managing their health. However, we soon realized the limitations of paper-based inventory management and put our heads together to solve the problem.

Conventional diaper inventory management was done by hand-recording inventory on a record sheet attached near the diaper storage area. In this way, it is difficult to track the frequency and scale of diaper stocking, ▲the record of the stock status of diapers has no choice but to continue to produce records despite the decline in the importance of the archive, and crucially ▲the fact that records are printed every time the stock is checked. It had several disadvantages, including the fact that it was cumbersome and cumbersome to manually record it out of the file, so inventory was not frequently checked on time.

In order to overcome these shortcomings and efficiently manage diaper inventory, we conceived and developed DIAPERS, a solution that serializes diaper inventory data and records it in a database. Dipers provides a convenient new way to record diaper inventory, quickly and accurately displays stored data, and graphs the accumulated data to present simple statistics.

As we experienced with Friendship Nest, small social welfare facilities will still have a lot of unavailable data that is not computerized and therefore valuable but not usable. Although we cannot take measures to computerize and systematically utilize all data in the limited position of a social worker, our small efforts will improve the efficient operation of social welfare facilities and the quality of life of social welfare facility users, who are strictly members of society. I just hope it helps, even in a small way, in the improvement.
