User Reviews

Players generally love The Operator’s original detective gameplay, immersive story, and polished audio and visuals. The most common complaints are that the game and trial are too short, the ending feels abrupt, and the full version can seem expensive for the amount of content. A few players also reported startup problems.

Pros

  • Engaging, immersive story and strong plot, often praised for its atmosphere and 1990s-inspired style.
  • Distinctive investigative gameplay with satisfying evidence analysis, puzzles, and casework.
  • Polished presentation, especially the voice acting, sound, visuals, and music.

Cons

  • The game and free trial are short; many players wanted more cases, chapters, and story.
  • The story’s abrupt or cliffhanger ending left some players wanting a more satisfying conclusion.
  • The full game’s price and the short trial before the paywall disappointed some players.
  • Some players reported crashes or repeated delays when starting the game.

the game was fun but $7.99 for such a short game is ridiculous. I was finished in 2.5 hours and I took long breaks during. I'm actually kind of upset I got duped like that

it's a great game, with lots of details. Everyrhing is very realistic, immersive with many a lovely interface. BUT there is a huge negative side. Auto-save points are very frequent and it always take you to the very beginning of a mission. As you cannot skip dialogs, you have to wait for all of them again and again. It's frustrating. I don't eamt play the same sequence again and again.
