User Reviews

Aurora DMX is praised for its ease of use, quick setup, and effectiveness in controlling small lighting systems, especially for testing ArtNet and sACN setups. Users appreciate its intuitive layout and functionality for basic lighting control. However, several users note limitations such as a channel cap unless paid, limited slider space, and missing advanced features like multi-universe control or pan/tilt for moving heads. Some users also desire better instructions and improved user experience for more complex setups.
Pros
  • Easy to set up and user friendly interface
  • Useful for small lighting setups and testing ArtNet quickly
  • Works well technically and functions as expected
  • Great layout and intuitive design
  • Handy tool for basic lighting control without complexity
Cons
  • Limited number of DMX channels without payment (5 channels locked, more require $10 unlock)
  • Limited space for sliders and limited total number of channels (min 8 sliders vertically and 24 horizontally desired)
  • Lack of features such as assigning keystrokes to step through scenes or moving head fixture support (pan/tilt)
  • Confusing or lacking instructions on multi-universe control

Great for smaller E1.31 sACN systems connected via WiFi. Wish each slider you could specify the universe.

Pretty good if you need artnet to test something quickly. You're limited to 5 "channel" unless you pay $10 to unlock more DMX channel. Download the app and have a look. Not sure how to explain it best
