Orthodox Way Android

Orthodox Way

By: TenuTech App
The daily rhythm of the Orthodox faith - prayers, fasts, saints, readings.

Overview

Features & Capabilities

For two thousand years, the Orthodox Church has carried a way of life — prayer at sunrise and sunset, fasts that turn the seasons, feasts that remember the saints, scripture spoken in every cell and every cathedral.

Orthodox Way is that life, gently, on the device already in your hand.

It is a quiet companion. It knows what day it is on the calendar of saints. It knows which fasting rule applies, which Gospel will be read at Liturgy, and what tone the choir is in this week.

WHAT'S INSIDE

Today
Each day opens with the season, the tone, the fast, and the saints commemorated. The lectionary readings sit at the top of the page. A suggested rule of prayer is waiting.

Prayers
A library of morning prayers, evening prayers, prayers upon rising, prayers before sleep, the Trisagion, the Symbol of Faith, and prayers to the Mother of God and one's guardian angel. Rules group them into Beginner, Standard, and Full — walk through them in order, or read any prayer on its own. The Jesus Prayer has its own rope.

Fasting
Three levels — Beginner, Standard, Strict — across the whole liturgical year. The permitted and excluded foods for any day are one tap away, with a short pastoral note on each level. Your own practice is set with your priest.

Daily Readings
Gospel, Epistle, and Old Testament from the Church's lectionary, every day of the year. Pick a date to read ahead or to catch up.

Services
The Divine Liturgy, Vespers, Matins, Small and Great Compline, the Akathist, Panikhida, Molieben — each with its parts, and, when the date is chosen, the variable hymns filled in by the liturgical engine.

Saints
The full Synaxarion of the Church. Search by name, region, or feast day. Browse by category — martyrs, hierarchs, monastics, apostles, wonderworkers, the righteous, the equal-to-the-apostles, the fools-for-Christ.

Calendar
The whole year, with feasts, fasts, and tones laid out in order. Both old and new calendar styles are supported.

Learn
Short essays on the catechism, the divine services, the holy mysteries, fasting, the saints, the Church, and Church history. The library grows as content is authored.

A WORD ON THE VOICE

We built Orthodox Way the way an icon is written: slowly, carefully, with reverence. No streaks. No badges. No reminders that nag. No bright colours competing for attention. The text speaks plainly; the design steps out of the way.

If you are an inquirer, the catechism is yours. If you are a catechumen, the rule of prayer is yours. If you are a layman keeping the fast in your kitchen and the prayers in your room, the app is shaped to your day.

Glory to God for all things.
