CLU - Legal Document Analyzer

CLU (Legal Intelligence Engine) is an open-source browser extension that helps you understand legal documents before you accept them.

Features & Capabilities

CLU (Legal Intelligence Engine) is an open-source browser extension that helps you understand legal documents before you accept them.

When you visit a website, CLU can analyse Terms of Service, Privacy Policies, End-User License Agreements (EULAs), and other legal documents using AI. Instead of reading pages of dense legal text, you receive a clear summary highlighting important clauses, potential risks, data collection practices, account restrictions, arbitration requirements, automatic renewals, content ownership terms, and other provisions that may affect your rights.

Key Features:

• AI-powered analysis of Terms of Service, Privacy Policies, and legal agreements • Highlights potentially concerning clauses and unusual terms • Plain-language summaries of complex legal documents • Privacy-focused design with no telemetry or advertising • Open-source codebase for transparency and community review • Bring your own AI API key (OpenAI, Anthropic, and compatible providers) • No subscription fees charged by CLU

Privacy and Data Handling:

CLU does not operate its own servers and does not collect user analytics. Documents are processed locally within the extension and are only transmitted to the AI provider selected by the user for analysis. Users are responsible for reviewing the privacy practices and terms of any AI provider they choose to use.

CLU is intended to assist users in understanding legal documents and does not provide legal advice.
