User reviews
Twitter Media Assist is praised for its easy and efficient media downloading capabilities from Twitter, including videos and GIFs, working well on Chrome and Edge. However, multiple users report frequent breakages following Twitter updates, such as disappearance of download buttons and partial GIF downloads. Some experience file renaming issues and limited usage constraints. Users value prompt updates restoring functionality but highlight the need for ongoing maintenance due to platform changes.
Pros

- User-friendly and simple to use.
- Works efficiently on both Chrome and Edge browsers.
- Restoration of functionality after updates is appreciated by users.
- Supports downloading GIFs, a feature not commonly available in other extensions.
Cons
- Extension stopped working after recent Twitter (X) updates, causing download buttons to disappear.
- Limited usage time or download restrictions reported (e.g., 15-minute usage limit).
- Issues with file renaming causing double extensions or conflicts with other extensions.
- Problems downloading GIFs completely, leading to missing frames.
- Dependency on extension updates to fix frequent breakages due to Twitter changes.

Sadly has stopped working since yesterday. Hopefully it gets updated since this is one of the only downloaders that isn't adware, doesn't have some up-your-nose looking button, very quick and convenient to use especially with the username-url_id naming system and it actually downloads the highest image/video quality.
