Не работает, хоть плачь. И плагин стоит, и пароль новый прислали, а все равно пароль не признает.

Все норм работает (по крайней мере со Springer Link). Из приложения HSE app X можно актуальный пароль либы запросить на почту учебную, он быстро истекает. Ещё стоит vpn'ы дополнительные вырубить.
