In today's web world, sites can be a tornado of distractions such as banners, videos, sidebars, popups and other elements with the hopes of grabbing (and holding!) your attention. Usually this is a good thing because it helps us navigate websites quickly, but sometimes it can get in the way of the content we are actually interested in.

It works! I like how the Focus Window extension only shows about an inch (or a rulers width) of the page at a time. It basically dims the rest of the screen and keeps about an inch of it visible in full brightness. It's actually kind of a great alternative to night mode as well. Often i find i like to browse the web at full brightness to see all the colours, but sometimes i just want to look at one area of the screen. . . May be a great alternative to the night mode for me if im working late or don't want to disturb my partner while they sleep.
