ChatNest

ChatNest helps you organize AI conversations from ChatGPT, Claude, Gemini, Perplexity, Mistral, and DeepSeek in local folders.

Features •Create folders and subfolders for conversations. •Move a conversation using the ChatNest move handle, the folder picker, or the right-click menu. •Pin conversations, mark them unread, rename them, and add private notes. •Search saved conversation titles and notes. •Archive folders and restore them later. •Export a folder to Markdown or export all ChatNest data to JSON. •Import a validated JSON backup and restore automatic recovery copies from Settings. •Choose a light or dark theme, adjust the panel appearance, and switch between English and Polish.

Privacy and storage

ChatNest does not send your folder structure, notes, conversation titles, or links to external services. Its data are stored locally in your Firefox profile.

Use Export JSON to create a backup or transfer your ChatNest organization to another Firefox profile.

Compatibility

ChatNest is a Firefox Desktop extension and requires Firefox 142 or newer. It does not support Firefox for Android.

Major reliability and usability update •Renamed the interface consistently to ChatNest. •Moved ChatNest data from Firefox Sync to local extension storage, removing the former single-record storage limitation and avoiding cross-device overwrite conflicts. •Added a one-time migration path from version 1.4 data, including a separate recovery copy when an old Sync record is found. •Added versioned and validated JSON backup files. Invalid folders, orphaned items, cycles, duplicate IDs, malformed records, and backups from another supported service are rejected. •Added automatic recovery copies before imports and permanent deletions, with restore controls in Settings. •Made deletion and undo safer, including correct handling of archived subfolders and pinned conversations. •Rebuilt moving conversations from AI sidebars: ChatNest now uses its own pointer-based move handle instead of fragile HTML5 drag and drop on host-page rows.
