ChannelLens Firefox

ChannelLens

By: Fahad Add-on
Privately label YouTube channels and see your notes when you encounter them again.

Features & Capabilities

ChannelLens helps you keep private context about YouTube channels you encounter. Save a label and optional note for a channel, then ChannelLens shows a reminder when you later visit that channel or watch one of its videos.

Choose from built-in labels such as Biased, Misinformation, Clickbait, Unreliable, and Useful, or create your own labels. Your reminders are deliberately limited to relevant channel and video pages, avoiding alerts on the YouTube homepage, search results, feeds, playlists, and unrelated recommendations.

Use the management page to search, edit, or delete saved channel reminders. You can also export your data as JSON for backup or import it when moving browsers. ChannelLens supports system, light, and dark themes.

All labels, notes, and channel metadata stay in your browser’s local extension storage. ChannelLens uses no analytics, remote scripts, or external network service, and it never uploads your data.

Is ChannelLens Safe?

Risk impact
Risk impact measures the level of extra permissions an extension has access to. A low risk impact extension cannot do much harms, whereas a high risk impact extension can do a lot of damage like stealing your password, bypassing your security settings, and accessing your personal data. High risk impact extensions are not necessarily malicious. However, if they do turn malicious, they can be very harmful.

ChannelLens requires a few sensitive permissions. Exercise caution before installing.

This is determined by the publisher and the Firefox add-on reputation on Firefox Add-ons Store, the amount of time the Firefox add-on has been around, and other signals about the Firefox add-on. Our algorithms are not perfect, and are subject to change as we discover new ways to detect malicious extensions. We recommend that you always exercise caution when installing a Firefox add-on.
