Chameleon Firefox

Chameleon

Spoof your browser profile. Includes a few privacy enhancing options. A WebExtension port of Random Agent Spoofer.

Features & Capabilities

Chameleon is a versatile Chrome extension that enhances your online privacy by spoofing your browser profile and providing powerful privacy options. As a WebExtension port of the popular Firefox add-on Random Agent Spoofer, Chameleon allows you to randomly select and rotate user agents across various platforms and device types, helping you mask your browser identity.

Beyond user agent spoofing, Chameleon offers a comprehensive set of privacy features including Do Not Track, referer header modifications, ETag tracking prevention, and blocking or spoofing media devices. It also protects against advanced fingerprinting techniques such as audio context, font fingerprint, screen size, timezone spoofing, and WebRTC leaks. With options to limit tab history and modify cookie policies, it further secures your browsing.

Chameleon's intuitive UI supports light/dark themes and quick toggling. Its whitelist system lets you apply real or spoofed profiles selectively using custom rules and regular expressions. Ideal for privacy-conscious users, Chameleon empowers you with tools to resist tracking and fingerprinting while surfing the web safely and anonymously.

User Reviews

Chameleon is praised for privacy protection and device spoofing capabilities, with many reviewers calling it valuable and highly recommended. However, users report stability issues with settings, site-specific breakages (notably on YouTube/Twitch and sites using Cloudflare), and mixed spoofing effectiveness across sites.
Pros
  • Privacy protection while browsing (anti-tracking and fingerprinting defenses).
  • UA spoofing and device randomization to help hide your online identity.
  • Highly useful and positively reviewed extension; generally recommended.
Cons
  • Settings can be unstable, including random resets/deletions and import failures.
  • Inconsistent site compatibility; some sites (for example YouTube and Twitch) may not work properly.
  • Spoofing is not always effective; some sites detect or identify the browser despite the spoof.
Recent reviews
Normally I don't write reviews here (this is my first and maybe last review) but I had to for "The Chameleon". Effortlessly the best useful extension on FireFox. It literally does what it says, almost too well. Like It spoofed the language I use to Hindu and man did I struggle finding everything in Hindu. But it was just doing its Job. So, let it spoof everything except the language. Other than that I HIGHLY RECOMMEND THIS!!!!!!!
