Discover the richness and diversity of French in French-speaking Switzerland in a fun way!

From Jura to Valais, from Geneva to Val-de-Ruz, the French spoken in Switzerland never has the same hues or the same sounds. Who has never been surprised, when traveling outside their canton of origin, by the use of this or that expression or the pronunciation of this or that word? The Dis voir application was designed to document and promote the linguistic variations of French in French-speaking Switzerland. Help us showcase this variation while having fun!

Anyone whose mother tongue or heart language is French can participate!

How does it work? The application has four game sections:
- Listen and see: Listen to audio extracts from Swiss speakers and try to locate them on the map using their simple accent. Do you think you can guess where each speaker comes from?

- Say see: Map Switzerland by indicating how you call different objects, situations or activities. This section allows you to collect voice recordings to document the diversity of Swiss French accents, make your voice heard and listen to that of others!

- Guess see: Play a variation of the famous MOTUS game with Swiss words! Guess the hidden word of the day with a limited number of attempts. Test your knowledge of French-speaking Swiss vocabulary and have fun discovering new terms.

- Participate and see: Go even further by participating in broader surveys at the French-speaking level. Share your linguistic experiences, help document the diversity of French, and contribute to large-scale research on French language variation.
