Twirly: Diktieren statt Tippen

Wake up, speak, and voilà – the text appears.

Twirly transcribes into any app—WhatsApp, email, notes, search—without you having to use the keyboard. Simply wake up Twirly, say your message, and the text appears directly in the text field. For chat messages, it even includes automatic sending.

Twirly does all the processing on your device. Your voice is not transmitted, not stored, not analyzed—there's no server it could go to. No account, no registration, no advertising, no data collection. All completely offline.

This means Twirly also works in airplane mode. On the train through the Gotthard Tunnel, in a mountain cabin, or in the basement.

Wake options:

• Shake — from any app, without switching keyboards

• Double-tap the back — if shaking is too conspicuous

• Twirly keyboard — press the globe key, speak, return to the old keyboard

• On-screen button and a tile in Quick Settings.

• Automatic punctuation and capitalization

• Remove filler words ("um," "so")

• Custom words: names, technical terms, company names—enter them once, and they'll always be spelled correctly

• Sound matching: Anything that sounds similar to one of your words will be spelled correctly

• Hallucination filter: Invented sentences made up from silence are discarded

• Automatically ends the recording when you pause (configurable)

Important:

• On first launch, Twirly downloads the speech recognition software—approximately 640 MB. Wi-Fi is recommended; after that, internet access is never needed.

• Twirly requires a modern phone (Android 11 or later, 64-bit).

• Twirly uses an accessibility service to paste at the cursor. This is optional and explained during setup—without it, the text will be copied to the clipboard.
