en Easy to get working (see other reviews and "allow access to file URLs" in extension settings) but designed in a lazy way. It will reverse the contrast of the entire screen for the PDF, including the scroll guide and toolbar. If you're just using this for text it should work fine, but if you're reading anything with figures or pictures such as academic papers, don't use this! The figures get affected and become unrecognizable.

en For anyone having trouble using this, first follow the directions in the extension. Next, if you have any "force dark mode" settings, you have to disable it for the extension to work. Type chrome://flags/ in the address bar. Next, you have to disable Auto Dark Mode for Web Contents. I had it enabled, and then clicked "default" to disable it. Now, when you open the PDF document, hold down CTRL+SHIFT+9 and it should work properly. You can adjust the darkness and stuff too if you click the extension. Hope that helps.

en People are complaining because it doesn't work, but those people don't know how to read simple directions. You must do Ctrl + Shift + 9 to toggle dark mode on and off. The extension works great.
