Censr

By: Censr Add-on
Free AI-powered content filter for images, GIFs, and videos. Real-time censoring with per-body-part detection. Source-Available Privacy-First Real-Time AI Content Moderation.

Features & Capabilities

An AI-powered privacy-first browser extension that automatically detects and censors NSFW content in images, GIFs, and videos on any webpage.

Censr is a free, source-available and privacy-first AI content filter that runs entirely in your browser. It automatically detects and censors NSFW content in images, GIFs, and videos in real-time as you browse — no cloud, no servers, no data collection. Videos and GIFs censoring is free and will always remain free!

Unlike basic blur-only filters, Censr uses an advanced YOLO-based AI model to identify specific body parts and censor only the detected regions. You get precise, per-body-part censoring with 18 configurable detection targets — the first extension to offer real-time video censoring with per-region detection directly in the browser.

🛡 Real-time Detection: Automatically scans images, GIFs, and videos as pages load

🎬 Video Support: Censors video content in real-time (HTML5, HLS, canvas-based players)

🎞 GIF Support: Animated GIFs are processed frame-by-frame

🔒 Placeholder Blur: Content is blurred while being processed (no NSFW flash)

🎛 Customizable Censoring: Toggle which body parts to censor

🎨 Multiple Censor Styles: Choose between Blur, Black Bar, or Pixelate

🏷 Custom Labels: Replace detection labels with your own text or emojis (or hide them!)

🖼 Image Overlays: Use custom images instead of blur/bars (stickers, memes, etc.)

📏 Box Size Multiplier: Make censored areas larger (1x to 3x)

⏱ Frame Interval Control: Adjust video/GIF processing speed (50-500ms)

🔒 Privacy-Focused: All processing happens locally in your browser

⚡ Fast: Uses ONNX Runtime WebAssembly for efficient inference.

User Reviews

Thank you for creating this add-on! This tool has been great for me, and I’m looking forward to seeing what the AI can do. Lately, I’ve been watching a lot of Aion 2 YouTube videos in preparation for the global launch, and this extension has really improved my browsing and viewing experience. However, I do see some room for improvement with certain videos. In one video that I used as my guinea pig, there is a jiggle effect on a female character, and the blur doesn’t always stick. It worked most of the time, but there were a few instances where the effect became visible again. In other videos I feel like I see way more buttocks than I would like, even if the characters are wearing a swimsuit. Also, some YouTube preview/thumbnail images aren’t being blurred either. For the most part, though, this has been working great for me. Thank you again for creating this extension!
