Minimalist Workspace Android

Minimalist Workspace

Minimalist daily planner for tasks, habits, goals and review tracking in app.

Features & Capabilities

Minimalist Workspace is a single-page web application for personal planning and reflection. It organizes daily work into four main sections that are accessible through a bottom navigation bar: an overview, a daily detail page, a library, and a review area. The overview presents a calendar-like list of days and lets you set the active date. tasks, habits, and goals. The review screen collects reflection notes, scores, and a simple rewards list.

Tasks are the core unit of planning. A task can be a one-off item with a simple completion toggle or a repeatable item with a target count and accumulated progress. Tasks may include subtasks that are tracked independently, and the edit dialog allows you to add, rename, or delete those subtasks. Tasks in the library act as templates. When you add a library task to a day, the app creates a dated copy and links it back to the template. If you update a library task, the app can synchronize common fields such as title, category, target count, and subtasks to the copies without overwriting per-day status like completion state or accumulated counts. If you edit a specific daily instance, shared fields can be pushed back to its template so the library stays consistent.

Habits are tracked with frequency settings, streaks, target counts, and optional completion times. Each habit can record multiple completion times in a day, and those timestamps are used to add or remove a completion. When the accumulated count reaches the target, the habit is marked complete for the day and the streak is increased if it was previously incomplete. Habits can also be linked to a goal key result, and the habit editor includes appearance settings so you can select an icon and color.

Goals are grouped by category and contain one or more key results. The goal editor allows you to add or remove key results and adjust their titles. Goals, habits, and tasks all share the same category list, which is built from the current items in the app so categories can be reused across types. The library view is tabbed so you can switch between tasks, habits, and goals without leaving the screen. A quick-create overlay lets you add new items with minimal input, and on the daily page it can create a temporary task for the active date.

The review area provides a lightweight journaling and scoring workflow. Reflection templates are stored as text blocks to help you capture notes quickly. Score definitions map a labeled scale from negative to positive values, which allows a day to be rated on dimensions such as focus or mood. Rewards are simple items with a title, cost, and icon, maintained as a list for reference. These tools are meant for personal tracking and do not rely on external services.

On startup, the app loads initial tasks, habits, goals, and rewards and shows a brief loading animation. Overdue tasks from earlier dates are carried forward to today if they are incomplete, while completed tasks remain on their original date. The interface uses modal overlays for editing tasks, habits, and goals, keeping the main view visible in the background. The selected theme color affects buttons, highlights, and certain status icons, and the sidebar provides theme selection plus a button to clear tasks back to the initial state.

All data is managed in React state in the browser. The current code does not show server calls, authentication, or persistent storage, so content resets on refresh unless another layer adds persistence. The app is designed for a single user on a single device and combines a planner, habit tracker, and review workflow in one interface, with reusable templates and per-day execution tracking.
Navigation between views uses a horizontal slider effect, and floating plus button appears in daily views.
