What is TabSpeech?
TabSpeech is a handy Chrome extension for reading out the visible text on the browser tab. Users simply select the text range and activate the extension for speech reading. Additional controls like pause, stop and resume make it user-friendly. The developers are open to contributions on their GitHub page.

  • Usage:
  1. Select the range where you want to start reading
  2. Click the PageAction icon (the black “reading” icon in the upper right) and press the “Speech” button

Press Stop to stop reading, Pause to pause, and Resume to resume from pause.

小説を自動読上げで聞くのに、アンドロイドの「小説を聞こう」が便利なので windows11で同様なアプリを探したが日本語対応の良いものがないようでした。  アクセシビリティの読み上げは長文を読ませるには全く向いておらず、 短文での発音もおかしいので諦め。  次にアンドロイドエミュレータGlueStacksでwindows でも小説を聞こうを使おうとしましたが、 google標準のTTSエンジンが作動せず、動いたのは他の有料TTSエンジンだけ。 550-780円かけて無料のグーグルと大差ないようなので不採用。  クロムの機能拡張ならあるか?とTTSを検索してこれを見つけました。 TTSエンジン自体はwindows のものでアクセシビリティの読み上げと同じだが、 この機能拡張から使用した方が区切りや句読点処理がまともに聞こえるようです。 設定から辞書指定ができて、標準のままでWINの読み上げより賢い「読み」をします。 WEB小説で次話にページを進める機能などは無いので、WEB小説特化した、あるいは サイトの構成に対応する便利機能がつけば ★5

Hello, Thank you for this great extension. I have two requests. 1. Please make "Enable force scroll to speech sentence" option less aggressive. ie, please do NOT force-scroll too often. Please take a look at Read Aloud of MS Edge browser. 2. Please put a brief pause at the end of line breaks and carriage returns as if there is a period character so the two words in two different lines are not read as if connected.
