InfoFarma

infoFarma is an electronic application that contains the minimum information necessary to be able to make safe use of the medicines that are administered in the health centers of the Primary Care Management and in the Camp de Tarragona Community.

It was born as an evolution of the medication sheets that were drawn up in our management in 2012 to respond to the requirements of the sine qua non procedures of the accreditation model of the Department of Health and to the numerous patient safety incidents reported in our territory.

The aim of infoFarma is to make information on the use and safety of the medicines included in the pharmacy prescription for internal use more accessible to professionals, through the usual work tools (computers and mobile phones) our primary care management, as well as outpatient medications that are administered in health centers.

A list is shown alphabetically by active principle, with the population in which its use is indicated, safety recommendations related to its conservation or associated risk and, for those who require it, a table of dose and volume of dilution to be administered per kilogram of body weight. The application provides information on adverse effects and safety recommendations when available. For some drugs, information may not be available.

Its design and development has been carried out by the territorial Information and Communication Technologies Unit, the territorial Patient Quality and Safety Unit and the Primary Care Pharmacy Unit.
