Unlike most parental control software, DigitalFence gives you the option to set parental controls on both your device and your child's.

Handing your own phone to your child for a few minutes? Switch to Lend mode: only kid-friendly apps appear, and your email, banking, UPI and shopping apps stay out of reach. Switch between children on the same phone too.

Alternatively set parental controls on your childs device and manage remotely from your phone. No separate Google account is needed for your child, everything works from one account. Same configurable parental controls are available on whichever device your child is on.

YOU CURATE NOTHING
DigitalFence uses AI to age-classify every app, website and YouTube channel by category and age-appropriateness so you don't have to vet each one manually. Still, you can always override.

WHAT YOU GET

• Approved-apps launcher — Your child sees a clean home screen with only the apps you've approved.

• Study Mode — Cuts out distractions while your child studies. Only educational apps and websites will stay open and the rest are blocked.

• Smart time limits — Set a budget per category (example categories are games, education, etc) with built-in breaks that kick in on their own.

• Safe browsing & YouTube — Web pages and YouTube channels are automatically age-checked and filtered.

• Kids & Teen modes — On your child's own device, choose an age-appropriate experience for younger kids or teens.

• Daily activity report — See how your child spent their screen time each day, right inside the app. (Weekly and emailed reports coming soon.)

• Emergency Mode — Your child can always reach you using emergency mode with timed access to Phone, SMS and WhatsApp given when they need it.

How This App Uses Accessibility Services
Our Parent Control app uses the Android AccessibilityService API ONLY when Child Mode is active to provide essential parental safety features. This service allows the app to act as a "digital supervisor" to keep your child safe.
How we use this permission:
- App Monitoring & Blocking: We detect which app is currently in use to enforce your set screen time limits and block restricted apps.
- Web Content Filtering: We read URLs from Chrome to categorize websites using AI, ensuring inappropriate content is blocked in real-time.
- YouTube Safety: We read video titles and channel names in the YouTube app to filter age-inappropriate videos and enforce viewing limits.
- Tamper Protection: When Child Mode is active, this service prevents the child from uninstalling the app or disabling safety settings without the parent's PIN.
Data Privacy & Collection:
- Data Collected: Active app names, Chrome URLs (domain level), and YouTube video titles/channel names.
- Data NOT Collected: We do not read passwords, private messages, keystrokes, or any personal content beyond the items listed above.
- Sharing: All data is processed solely for parental control purposes and shared only with the linked parent account. We do not sell or share this data with third parties.
