are you okay? is a warm, quiet place to ask that question — or to answer it.

we built it against the loneliness epidemic: a small, kind answer to a lonely time. not therapy, not a crisis line, not a fix. just people, gently checking in on people.

how it works:
• join a room based on what you're carrying right now — not a label, just life.
• set how you're feeling, in your own words. your status is always yours to choose.
• light a lantern when you're open to listen, so others know it's okay to come closer.
• when two people both say yes, a bench opens — a private, one-to-one conversation. no unsolicited messages, ever. every connection is invited.

time is treated as kindness here:
• messages in a room fade after 48 hours.
• a bench fades after 24, unless you both choose to keep it.
• your own words are saved privately to your journal — only you can read it, and you can turn it off, export it, or clear it anytime.

what you won't find:
• no public counters, streaks, badges, or ratings on kindness. care is a ritual, never a score.
• no read receipts, anywhere.
• no ads, and we never sell your data.

a gentle note: are you okay? offers support, not treatment. if you're ever in danger or crisis, please reach out to local emergency services or a crisis line — we'll point you toward real help, but we can't replace it. for adults 18 and older.
