На удивление, в "новом дизайне" youtube расширение чётко работает. По умолчанию открывается страница плеера без превью и управления. Снял галку в настройках "Disable Preloading" - нормально открывается остановленное видео. Рекомендую (пока ютуб опять всё у себя не сломал).
