This extension does exactly as I expected. It overlays each image with the alt text assigned so I can quickly QA and ensure best practices for our web experience.

The overlay is triggered immediately when you go to the page, even without hovering over it. It covers most of the page, making it invisible. It's a shame it can't be used, it would be useful.
