VinylSonar

Know what your vinyl is worth. Find the records you're missing. Deal with collectors who live near you.

VinylSonar turns the shelf behind you into a catalogue you can actually use — priced, searchable, and worth something.

ADD A RECORD IN SECONDS

Seven ways in, so there's always one that fits the record in your hand:

• Scan the barcode live
• Photograph the barcode
• Photograph the disc label
• Photograph the album art
• Read the runout — the etched matrix code in the deadwax, which pins the exact pressing
• Search the catalogue by artist or album
• Type it in yourself

No barcode on a 1974 pressing? Shoot the label or read the runout instead.

PRICING THAT KNOWS ONE PRESSING FROM ANOTHER

A 1975 UK first press and a 2016 reissue are not the same record, and they are not the same price. VinylSonar values the pressing you actually own — year, country, label and catalogue number — using market data from Discogs.

Grade the media and sleeve separately, the way collectors really do, and the estimate follows. Change a grade from Very Good Plus to Mint and watch the number move.

Prices are shown in your own currency.

YOUR COLLECTION, TOTALLED

• A running total for everything you own
• Value over time, so you can see the collection appreciate
• Your highest-value records, ranked
• Filter and search by artist, genre or condition
• Re-value the whole collection whenever you like

BUY AND SELL NEARBY

List a copy for sale straight from your collection — the details and photos are already there. Browse what's for sale around you, sorted by distance, so a record can change hands over coffee instead of in a padded mailer.

Message the seller in the app. Rate people you've dealt with, and see how they've been rated before you commit.

NEVER MISS THE ONE YOU'RE HUNTING

Follow the artists you collect and get told when their records are listed near you. Put a record on your wishlist with a price ceiling and hear about it when a copy appears.

ALSO INSIDE

• Community rooms to talk about pressings, gear and finds
• Your own storefront if you sell seriously
• Collection stats, tracklists and discographies
